I know I’m not the only person who finds this surreal, but still!! I wasn’t going to post on this because its all over the news and the blogsphere, but i just couldn’t NOT! I’m disturbed-not shed tears disturbed but I find it sad because his musical genius can’t be denied. I might have to take PYT off my workout playlist because I’ll suddenly remember he’s gone and it’ll be surreal all over gain.
I can’t believe that CNN said the toxicology results won’t be available for weeks. People!! This is MJ, you can rush that.. not that I have a deep desire to know but I know that it can done. Some people need that peace.
I’m sad I gave my MJ medley mix cd to my BFF. I need to rock out to him to say a final good bye to his music. I remember my little neighbor when I was younger was a SUPER MJ fan. He was like 4-5 and I was like 8. He had a huge crush on me, so he would try to let me rub on his glove. And he would tuck in his shirt to show the belt. Do you guys remember the belt?

Apollo Heights is scheduled to perform for Thursday’s Launch event (I hope you guys have been commenting to win tickets!) so of course we think you might want to know more about them. Maybe you heard their cd, White Music for Black People or seen them perform before, but for me I’d never heard of them. I was extremely interested in speaking to them and getting to know their sound and inspiration.
Apollo Heights was formed by twin brothers Danny and Daniel and has grown since then. I won’t give you their concise history for that you’ll have to check out their myspace page, www.myspace.com/apolloheights but I will tell you what I found out. This was definitely an interesting interview & I hope you enjoy!
Oh hell yes! Remember back in Nov. I posted a picture that was supposed to be Johnny Depp in the new Tim Burton produced Alice in Wonderland. Well…these new and improved pics have hit the net and um.. yeah.. J. Depp looks straight up MAD LOL. It seems they haven’t strayed far from what was leaked. I love the vibrant colors. He looks very Edward ScissoryHands and Willy Wonka mixed together.

I <3 Helena BC.. she plays weird oh so well.. Her & J. Depp do great work together as well as Tim. Did you know HBC was T. Burton’s love thang? Well if you didn’t now you do!
Oh, can I say that A. Hathaway’s makeup was the least interesting. I mean, it looks like all they did was spray her hair white and give her red lips. Add that to some pale foundation and that was my friends vampire Halloween costume last year. What’s going on??
They have some other pics up too but I didn’t post those. You can imagine that this is definitely going to be a darker Alice In Wonderland than you remembered dealing with Tim Burton. I need to get inside his head for a day. Where does his creativity come from? Is HBC his muse?
But the biggest question is… Where is Professor Snape’s Caterpillar picture??? That’s what I need to make me happy.
Girl crush to the Nth degree. Eva Mendes has always been dope to me. I watched We Own the Night this weekend and she was in there, and I had to give her props yet again because unlike other Spanish actresses *ahem jennifer lopez* she doesn’t ignore her ethnicity in her characters *ahem Jessica Alba* She played the fiesty Puerto Rican girlfriend of the main character and she was smoking HOT! And then these pics of her Calvin Klein ad hit the net today.

Ladies!! Kim Kardashian is on her grind. She has a new site, www.shoedazzle.com that is like Netflix for shoes (except these you don’t have to return! Now, I’m not Kim K fan because I think she’s famous for no reason, but if this site really works how its described, sign me up! I will NOT knock someone for a great idea.
How does it work you ask? Well apparently they survey you to determine what kind of shoes your into. Then they offer you a selection of 5 different shoes to pick from. Of those 5 the one you select will be sent to you. You will get one shoe per month for $39. According to the site, if your not interested in any shoes that month you can skip it and not be assessed the fee. How cool is that??
OH, and shipping is free in the US, yet another added bonus! Exchanges are also free, but you do have to pay 5.95 for returns-that’s not too bad since shipping is free to you!

Facebooky has all these little quizlets you can take when your bored, you’ve all seen them: What kind of lover are you? What is your sexual personality, How Dateable are you. When will you get married, etc., They are cool to pass the time with sometimes… at least they do for me at work. Today one of my friends took the “What Black Leader are You?” so I decided to follow.
I don’t know how the hell they arrive at their answers based on the questions used, but apparently I’m Angela Davis, which for me is cool because I think she rocks.
You may quietly consider yourself a rebel with a cause. You were not designed to follow social conformities and this gets you in a world of trouble; nevertheless, your opinions are ON POINT. You know what you’re talking about and are not afraid to say-so.
I remember seeing her speak when I was in college and thought she was a great speaker. But then my results got me to thinking. What am I speaking my mind about? Is my voice useless if I spend it ranting about things no one cares about? What is there that can be vehemently spoken against in this new millennium where nothing is sacred? It was so easy in the past, Davis’s generation, to get involved and speak out because things were blatantly racist and unjust. But now injustice is covertly hidden amongst us and when you try to call it out people call you paranoid. They say your overreacting and racism doesn’t exist. OR women’s rights. Plenty will say that women’s rights are no longer an issue and things are plenty equal. What is it that really grinds Cleo’s gears to cause her to speak out. what did I feel strongly for or against?
1. I’m against white celebrities going to Africa or China or Vietnam, or wherever to adopt babies when their are plenty disadvantaged people in our own country. How can we fix other peoples kids when we can’t fix our own.
2. I’m against the illegal immigration of Mexicans. Why should you be given a free pass because of your close proximity to the US?
3. I am against standardized testing being a way to judge the nations kids. The forces schools, in urban areas especially, to teach to the test versus just plain teaching. We want kids to be well rounded not little test drones who get to college and fail because they aren’t getting the proper education.
4. I’m pro-choice.
5. And today it was brought to my attention yet again that I think PETA is a waste of time and space. Can I start and anti-PETA Coalition? I wonder how many members I could atract. I mean seriously, how many times do they think they can throw red paint on someones fur before one of them gets killed? Or how about going to the fundamentals of how people orginated? (sure we’re far from them but hey!) Way back when people had to wear fur, it was the only way to keep warm. You had to hunt your coat down and before you could wear him you had to eat him! I’d be more up in arms over the chemicals and shit they are putting in the beef to then feed our kids than actually wearing their skin. How about protesting against the FDA and their lax standards?

So, Newsweek published the Top 1500 Public Schools in America this week. I kinda didn’t really pay any attention to it until today, and guess what! 48 of the Top 1500 are in NJ! Yes, that’s right the state that most movies & people mock is cranking out schools worthy of your attention! Too bad my high school wasn’t included, but hey we can’t have it all! There was one from a neighboring town though. Check it out!

I have been scouring the internet for days trying to find the shoes Monica is wearing in this video. She is rocking them around the 1:30 point, and they are phenomenal. I see a super high heel with a platform. MUST HAVE! On one blog a commenter said they were by a brand called Marni, so I began a search for them, but came up with nothing. I may not be able to afford them, but the shoe whore inside me needs to know who made them & how much they cost, can you help???

An Italian woman who arrived to the airport late for the fatal Air France flight 447 has died in a car accident, according to ANSA news agency.
Johanna Ganthaler, a pensioner from the Bolzano-Bozen Province (South Tyrol, Italy) and her husband, Kirk, were on vacation in Brazil and missed flight 447 after arriving to the airport late. They were able to board a later flight and avoided being victims of the horrible crash.
The couple rented a car in Munich, Germany and decided to drive home to Italy. On their way home, while driving through Kufstein, Austria, their car ended up in the opposite lane and they had a head on collision with a truck.
The woman died at the hospital that she was taken to. Her husband is still in critical condition.
That is such a sad story. You escape death in one tragic accident only to die in another a few days later.
That is crazy! We all say that you can’t escape death, but I never thought it was this serious. And no, I can’t believe this is happenstance. This is freaky! I haven’t reported on the sad crash, because I don’t like being sad, and also its been all over the internet and news that I didn’t really feel I could add much to the dialogue, but this is different. This is one of those cray rarities that we don’t hear of often. What do you think? Bizarre right?
People kill me with their nonsense, celebrities especially (or in this case a wanna be celebrity).
The other morning I was listening to the radio getting dressed for work as usual and they announced Cassie was naming a culprit in the release of her nude pics (some people will do anything for a shot at fame). So I listened intently ready to hear the report.
This heffa, with her goat pitched voiced, had the nerve to say she blames Google and their lack of security for her leaked picture. Seriously? Or you could have a better password idiot. I mean, now we can blame anyone for things that go wrong? Well I have some too!
*clears throat*
First would like to blame Honda for my speeding ticket. How dare you make a US car that has the capabilities of going up to 160 miles per hour knowing that there are no open roads for me to use it. Therefore I shall be sending my speeding ticket and holding you responsible for the increase in my auto insurance due to this driving infraction. If you feel the need to release a car that can do speeds in excess of the speed limits, please insert a manual of roads where it can be used to its full potential.
Next I would like to blame the internet for my lack of productivity. Do you really expect people to be productive when you’ve got all these distractions in place? You have games, contest, blogs, chats and more. I blame you for every deadline I am late for. I blame you for all the hours I’ve wasted. Please reimburse me for my time. I could be rich like you by now.
I mean, these are just a few, so if you have your own, just add them to the list.
In case ya’ll don’t know Wendy Williams is, as she would call it, a friend in my head. I like to think we’re cool because we’re from the same small town area (Yay Monmouth county!!). I like to support her endeavors. I listen to her show when I can, I’ve read all her books, and I dvr’ed her show because it came on mid day when I was working. Now, this doesn’t mean I’m a stan, but hey I like what I like, so who cares. Anyway, I didn’t even know the self-proclaimed Queen of All Media had a new addition to her Ritz Harper Chronicles until I stolled up in Borders the other day (which was odd in itself because I’m a Barnes & Noble kinda girl, but I digress).
Wendy, love ya no matter what, but this book blows. Seriously. I guess the best way to say how I feel is that the story line is not done the best it can be. There’s so much fluff. There is no nitty gritty. And she tries to get into too many characters heads. NEVER do that, IMO. Or if you do decide which characters you want to focus on and make it clear when you are leaving the thoughts of character A to focus on Character B. This caused much confusion. There were secondary characters getting monologues and shit they didn’t deserve. See, this is why I tried to get into publishing.. I think I’d make a great editor… sorry, back to the program..
I’m not even going to give too much away, because well there isn’t anything to really give away. The things that happened between this book & the last were barely filled in. The characters don’t have any real emotion to express. It’s all so fluff. I don’t thinkm this book was written for people who read outside of the “True to the game” and “Candy Girls” books. I’m a quick reader and all, but I should not finish your novel in less than 3 hours. A day, sure that’s feasible, but 3 hours. I’d like my time & money back please. If I had known this was a Simon & Schuster book I wouldn’t have saved my money and hollered at my BFF.
But I still love you Wendy!!

Personally, I can never listen to a WHOLE Maxwell cd. I dl’ed them all because people bigged him up so much, they have been deleted. Sorry.
UGH. Why must people ruin a good thing? I love a pair of leggings on a relaxing day. Rock them with a tunic and some flip flops and its all good. Or on a day when its raining so you can just throw on the rain boots and keep it moving. LOVE THEM!And even sometimes on my super skinny girlfriends they have rocked them out @ the club or some other even and looked adorable. But let’s be honest, leggings + club = FAIL! You just don’t do it, or if you do it do it right…

I like, borderline love, Amerie. Loved her 1st album, All I Have and Touch wasn’t too bad either. I am always sad that she isn’t blowing up the charts. It bothers me more when people say she can’t sing (which I think she can) when people like Rihanna and Cassie continue to be on their most played list and we all know they are no talent hags… But we know we can’t listen to other people because, well some say Queen Bey can’t sing, and that girl can blow. She just needs to make real music.
Anyway, here’s some Amerie called “Dear John”, what you think? Me… I like it. I want Amerie to do her thing. Why should she let her barely released 3rd album (that I have) stop her? She still has fans, her team needs to get with it.
