In the past few months (year?) I said I would name each of my blog post after a Sex and the City Episode. I decided now to not only do that, but give a brief description of the episode that led to its suggestion.
In “Luck be an old lady” Carrie desperately tries to get everyone together for Charlotte’s “thirty-faux” birthday. Charlotte doesn’t want to turn 36 because she feels she’s getting old. Miranda goes to Atlantic City with the girls, feeling self-conscious about her weight. Samantha is paranoid that Richard is cheating with the entire female hotel staff.
In less than 6 months I will be 30 and I feel just like Charlotte – I was so close to my goal and now I am starting over and I feel OLD. I feel like hope is lost (re: American Girl in Paris, Part Duex) and yet at the same time I feel like Miranda when battling my weight issues;like everywhere I go all people see is the girl who gained all the weight. I have absolutely depended on cardigans go hide my rolls and back flab. I don’t want to wear pants because they emphasize the weight yet dresses showcase the belly pouch. Fuck ME MAN. At this time, I think its fine to say I am a little vain and a lot self-conscious, its that a crime? I was raised to take pride in your appearance – to put your best face forward. I don’t know how long I can do that if I can’t fit my clothes. T-shirts aren’t appropriate work attire, are they?
In addition to my weight, I’ve been focusing on getting my hair and nail health back, because as you know your hair and nails are a reflection of what you put into you body. Put in crap – get out crap. All the nailtiques and biotin in the world can’t fix problems that stem from within. So, I’ve been taking my vitamins, trying to get more of my veggies, and of course getting back into a workout
… In “Critical Condition” you can see the egregious status of my curls. My latest video chronicles my progress after 2 uses of the Eden Bodyworks Jojoba Monoi deep conditioner and the Aphogee Curlrific Leave-in.
Things you will learn after this video:
– Pineappling your hair and wearing a cpap machine is complicated
– Applying Jamaican Black Castor Oil
– My leave-in conditioner routine
I am also learning a little more about iMovie and all its features! Check it out and of course -comment (and not about my weight), like, share, and all that goodness! I filmed this video on the 12th, but just got around to editing it. Since then, I did another round of washing and detangling. I went back to wearing my DIY U-part wig. I want to re-sew the wig and change my closure to include bangs. So I think in my next video(s) I will chronicle how I did this.
