I don’t typically visit Perez Hilton, however someone linked me to his site, where he had an article about Wal-mart only selling Whitney Houston’s cd online but selling Miley Cyrus (same day release) in stores.I don’t really care so much because I’m so avid Whit fan, but I think Wal-Mart is a hypocritical company. I try not to support them at all cost.
Does that sound harsh? Did you hear what Wal-Mart did to Debbie Shank. I remember reading about her a year or so ago. Debbie was a Wally World employee and got injured in an accident. Naturally as an employee for a major corporation she was enrolled in their health plan. Wally World shelled out about 470, 000 in medical expenses for Debbie, who was now brain-damaged. After a suit settled for Debbie for around 1 mil, after legal fees and such that left 417,000 to be put in a trust for Debbie. Wal-Mart sued her to recoup their monies.
Seriously? A billionaire company? Read more details if you’d like. But I swear I didn’t make it up!
So yeah, the rest of you can continue to shop there, but as I get older I put more thought into the brands I spend the cash at.
So this raises the question for me. Why would you opt for this? Are you trying to protect your “family-friendly” image? Yes? Did you do the same to Britney’s cd? Does it matter that M. Cyrus is a Disney slut?
I can’t do it! Thoughts??Is this a conspiracy? Is Walmart showing their strength as a retailer? Is this true? Is it just a rumor? I mean, its not like Perez Hilton is THE most reliable source. More details to come!
I was actually on twitter with this and someone responded to my post with a link to @WalmartKelly who is a media rep for Wal-Mart & this is what her page said!
update!
I was actually on twitter about this and someone hit me up with a link to a rep from WalMart’s twitter, @WalmartKelly & this is what they said:
# Walmart will in fact be selling Whitney’s new album in all stores 8/31. We’re excited about Whitney’s new album!about 8 hours ago from web
#
Walmart.com had unexpected tech issues, some CD pages are not showing up. We’re working on it now. Whitney will be online & in WMT stores.about 8 hours ago from web
#
@marlin6 @perezhilton Walmart will in fact be selling Whitney’s new album in all stores 8/31. We’re excited about Whitney’s new album!about 8 hours ago from web
So, if you so choose to go to Wally World (which I still don’t condone) then by all means do that on the release date. If its not there, I hope someone comes back & tells me! Pleeeaaasssseee
I was on facebook yesterday and someone posted this link to an interview with Trey Songz. I happen to like T. Songz (007-11 if you’re familiar with the Ocean’s 7 crew) but not in a crazed fan kinda way. There were mixed reviews on the facebook like about the interview with Honey Mag, some felt he let too much out in the interview. I disagree. This is the stuff that his fans want to know. SO, here are some highlights:
Let’s jump right in it. You are a proud supporter of porn?
Yeah. I think porn is cool.
Any recommendations?
Any recommendations on porn? Go to 4228, xxx.videos.com and freeporn.com. I don’t visit them frequently, but that’s three different sites. How could you go wrong?
You prefer free over paying?
Not necessarily. Sometimes I pay for it in the room. Because when I was younger I used to sneak and buy DVDs.
What’s your favorite type?
I think that porn is a way to broaden your horizons as far as sex is concerned. I remember when I first started watching porn my favorite porn star was Lacey Duvalle, Lindy Foxx, and I like the free will of porn all in itself.
And what are your favorite things to use in the bedroom?
My tongue and my penis (laughs).
How much does your own sex life influence your music?
A lot.
Do you play your music while you get it in?
Nah, I have before, yeah.
That’s a little cocky.
Is it? Think so? I mean so many other people are having sex to my music, why can’t I? I play music. Not all the time. Like I don’t have to have music to have sex. Because sometimes I like silence so I can hear her.
What’s your favorite song to have sex to? Or top five 5 sexiest songs?
“Greatest Sex” R. Kelly, “Fuck You Tonight” Biggie. And a lot of these songs depend on who it is, like if I’m making love to somebody and it’s somebody special, I’ll play like some Prince “Insatiable.” And actually I had a playlist — a sexual playlist. Where is it? I put it on my iPod.
Okay you look for that. In order of importance love, sex, money, or fame?
It would be love, money, fame, sex.
This is just a portion of the in depth interview with Honey Mag, definitely here over there to view the rest if your a Trey Songz stan fan.
I thought it was funny. I haven’t been to my girl @JessDubb‘s blog in awhile, and when I was catching up I saw she had posted a blog about T. Songz. I guess his time really is now …
I don’t care if anyone else accepts your apology. I do. I feel that no matter what you tried to do to rectify the situation, at any period in time, you were going to face criticism and possible further backlash. I am placing no blame on either you or Rihanna (although I do not think she’s completely guilt free) for what happened in that car. I know that only you two know what really happened. I believe if you did hit her, which you don’t deny, it was with probably cause. I firmly believe that if a woman hits a man, she should expect to get hit back. It’s playground rules, you get punched–punch back.
Sorry, but I digress. I think your apology was well versed and done well. People may outcry over the “scripting” of it, but I know that it needed to be that way. Anyone who believes that any sort of speech isn’t scripted is special and doesn’t deserve their comment voiced.
I hope that you can get past this and continue on your musical journey. I wish you well, and hope that you destroy that weird MJ tribue shirt you were wearing. It was more of an eyesore than the standard lawyers office blinds in the background of the video.
GL,
Cleo.

I know CB will never read this cuz I’m just a little old blog in blogville. But let’s go on the hope that he seeks out a letter from a not crazed 13 year old, then maybe I might get read… just maybe!
OK. I am so sorry for the lack of posts, I blame it on The Sims 3. Ever since I got that game I have been glued to it! It’s so bad, I even travel with it! I have it installed on my laptop and on a desktop at Mr. B’s house. Bad..
So being that I’ve spent so much time getting attached to this game – its been a month already- I can give you my quick review. I wish I knew how to make those cute Youtube Sim videos to give you an idea of my Sims. They are adorable. Well, besides that one funny looking daughter (we’ll just ignore her today! LOL).
Pros:
It’s really true, your Sims really can do so much more than they could before. I can go catch a movie at the theater in town. I can go on date to a restaurant without the loading screens, which is probably the biggest and best upgrade. I also have a little control over what they do at work. I can make my Sim slack off, work hard, chat with co-workers or suck up to their boss. Another cool thing is when your Sims are exercising their free will, they actually do things they need to do. They won’t read when they have to pee.
OH, and you can now place things caddy corner. You could never do that before. For some items in buy mode you have greater flexibility in making them custom, and you can make your furniture match if your that creative.
You can have leftovers! I know, how cool!! And the sims get mad if you waste good food. It has a negative impact on their mood! HA! And you can grow your own food. Gardening is a vital resource for Sims!
Cons:
I don’t like the rotating option sometimes. In the past you could scroll over to another part of the lot by moving your mouse over, now you can’t. You can rotate around a central point, usually a Sim.
This is sort of a pro and a con – you have to individually buy items for all your recipes AND your bookshelves. It’s cool to be able to buy books, but you can no longer just click on a bookshelf and study mechanical, cooking, or cleaning. Depending on the attributes you’ve set for your sim they may come with an introductory book, but not fully stocked. And with shopping. Not only do you have to pick the food, which is cool, but you have to drag and drop it to the fridge. This task is pretty hard on laptop sometimes. I’ve found a stray apple or onion on the floor occasionally.
Also.. I could NOT get my Sims to get married. The propose marriage option never came up, not even after 3 kids! What the hell kinda 2009-family breakdown shit is this?? I got illegitimates all up and through!! Work on it EA!
Happy Friday Lovers!! The weekend is here and the sun showed its face in Jersey today. Let’s hope she makes herself at home, because my tan is already fading! Let’s all send a shout out to the Jersey sun in hopes that it stays! LOL
RECESS!! FOR ADULTS?: LOVE IT!! I mean seriously! You should check it out. It’s only a few dates in NYC so get it while its HOT!
Summer Eating: I love BBQs-I love to throw them & go to them.. take heed people!!! The Very Smart Brothas are telling you the Do’s & Don’ts of BBQ etiquette (sidebar: I really do love this blog, quickly becoming a FAV!)
Having trouble with your oral: I have a suggestion! Blowguard! LOL I saw this @ the sex expo last year and had no interest in it. I know how to control my teeth, do you?
*Whew* it’s been awhile since I did this, so its going to be short & sweet.I promise, solemnly swear to do better lovers! I doooo!!!
1. 1st up is this funny video that takes some 70s audio and puts it over a Destiny Child video. Hilarious!!(via Sofurious)
2. Ashanti in the Wiz. Old News, but I did find this link while over @ Kitty’s of her signing. She does her thing, but I’ve always been a semi-fan of Ashanti. Her 1st album was ssooo goood!!
3. OK, this isn’t really spreading sunshine, but um.. Am I the only one who can careless about Maxwell’s big come back? I’m so over it. People are going bananas. Personally, I can never listen to a WHOLE Maxwell cd. I dl’ed them all because people bigged him up so much, they have been deleted. Sorry.
I like, borderline love, Amerie. Loved her 1st album, All I Have and Touch wasn’t too bad either. I am always sad that she isn’t blowing up the charts. It bothers me more when people say she can’t sing (which I think she can) when people like Rihanna and Cassie continue to be on their most played list and we all know they are no talent hags… But we know we can’t listen to other people because, well some say Queen Bey can’t sing, and that girl can blow. She just needs to make real music.
Anyway, here’s some Amerie called “Dear John”, what you think? Me… I like it. I want Amerie to do her thing. Why should she let her barely released 3rd album (that I have) stop her? She still has fans, her team needs to get with it.
Chrisette Michele’s new album Epiphany drops tomorrow, May 5th and I want you all to know what your getting into before you click purchase in iTunes. I loved her first album and I loved her when I saw her in concert, so I was really looking forward to this new cd. I can’t say I’m disappointed with her sophomore effort, but this album is very different than her first one, and that isn’t a bad thing.
I AM, her debut cd was, in my opinion, full of positive songs. I mean I loved Be Ok,Let’s Rock, Like a Dream, Is this the way, and Good Girl. There weren’t too many songs that made you think of relationships/men in a bad way and I really thoroughly enjoyed it. But this cd, I feel has a more gloomy vibe. From the opening track, Epiphany you notice the difference in the attitude of the singer. Of the 12 tracks (I know, I’m pissed it’s so short too) I’d say half of them are songs about break-ups and the such. I wonder what sort of personal dealings CM was going through.
Also, I feel like its noticeable that she didn’t do all the writing on this cd. I feel that the writing quality is drastically different than her first cd, I think the songs lack the total amount of soul that the first had. Not that they aren’t good, just not AS good. I need to find someone who bought an actual cd so I can look at the jacket to see who wrote what, but that’s not important.
My favorite songs on the album:
-Epiphany of course
-Porcelain doll
-Another One
-Notebook
-Mr. Right
Honorable mentions: Playin our song, What you do..
5/12 tracks isn’t bad at all. I love the fact that not every song sounds identical and the production is good. I’ve probably listened to this cd about 5x since it first came into my possession and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing her again in concert!
Overall .. 4/5
Oh.. and did I mention I think this girl is GORGEOUS?? Very beautiful girl!
For those that don’t know a music crush is when I think someone’s music is totally dope & want to hear all of it! Some of my current and former music crushes include: Kanye West, Teedra Moses, Beyonce (at one point in time, god I was young! lol), Maroon 5, Lupe Fiasco, Vivian Green, & Raheem Devaughn to just name a few.
My music crush is Kid Cudi. I had heard of Kid Cudi a few months ago, my friend was all in hoopla over the song Day & Night ft. Jim Jones. Since I hate everything Jim Jones I refused to listen, but then later I heard Day & Night without him (Jones) and I loved it. But, I still didn’t pay Cudi too much attention. Then I was browsing online and someone said they can’t stop listening to his song, “Dat New New” so I gave that a listen, and liked it.
As I was doing my random scope for new music I came across this A Kid Named Cudi mixtape produced by Plain Pat & Emile and decided to give it a listen since I saw that his official album hadn’t dropped yet. I’m only about 10 songs in and I’m freaking in love. I love it. I love the whole vibe of it, its not too serious. He’s not trying to twist your mind up. The production is dope. I hope the rest of the mixtape continues in this fashion.
Now I realize I’m late as hell in the discovery of this mixtape but that doesn’t take away from the fact that I find it abundant in awesomeness. I mean his song Day & Night makes me want to consider a life of lonely stoner-ism. If you can make that sound appealing, then your good in my book!
I feel bad for being resistent for all this time. I had saw all these people following him on Twitter, but I refused to do so. And I had heard all these rumors about him saying he was retiring after one album so he had all these negative connotations in my head. I don’t really care what he does in his personal life as long as he makes good music. So keep doing your thing Kid Cudi musically & you won’t let me down. (And FYI I still won’t follow him on Twitter).
Rumor Mills are buzzing that Columbia Records dropped Kelly Rowland because she was no longer, “commercially viable” or whatever that means. This is following her firing Matthew Knowles as her manager a few months ago. I think that this is probably the best thing for Kelly. I like Kelly, sometimes, but at other times I just feel she is corny. I think her music dilemma is because of Matthew Knowles. I have noticed that many artist, i.e. Sunshine Anderson, who have been signed to Music World flop. I believe that Matthew’s top priority is Beyonce and other artists under his fold are bound to fail.
I think Kelly, like LeToya (who’s album I loved and look forward to her next), needs to take time away from the fold and sort out her affairs and then come back better than ever if a solo career is what she really wants. For Kelly, I feel that it’s so hard to step out from being “former member of Destiny’s Child” to just Kelly. It’s so hard to create an identity different that what your “fans” were used to, and many record labels don’t embrace change unless its what they deem necessary, so I guess maybe that’s why she’s not “commercially viable.” I’m just guessing…
Also, I do feel that Kelly’s voice isn’t strong enough to carry a whole solo cd. Don’t get me wrong, her voice is a beautiful voice, but not all beautiful voices can sustain being the lead on EVERY song, you also need a STRONG voice! I think her album was ok, some songs (like The Show ft. Tank) are HOT, but others just fall short. I did like Comeback also, but Ghetto should not have been a single if you ask me-instead they should have went with In Love with my Ex or Flashback, but since no one asked me I’ll drop it.. So on that note, I wish Kelly the best in her career, musically & otherwise since she is slated to host a reality TV show in the near future.
Ok. I really tried to like The Dream cd. I enjoyed his first (and I would never say this to anyone) but I was waiting for his second cd. Man, am I disappointed. And I feel like the only one, since everyone is boasting about how great this cd is. But I’m sitting there like WHAT cd are THEY listening to? There are maybe like 1 or 2 songs I like, others I’m staring atwith confusion. What the hell is this Take you home to mama” crap? And Put it Down? Who says this on a song: ” If they ask you do I dance like Chris? Tell them No But as much rubbing as we do I could start a fire” I’m sorry, what? On the track Sweat it out“he really says (multiple times) “Call Latisha your beautician” WHY IS THAT A LYRIC! I’m extremely disappointed in this effort from him. But everyone else loves it, and his songs are great for when your in the club dancing. And we all know that to op the billboards these days the music doesn’t have to be good. Has anyone heard of the Stanky Leg (EXACTLY!) I also don’t feel his voice is that good, it’s decent at best. But the same can be said about R. Kelly, whose influence is very apparent on the cd. When R. Kelly did the duet Same Girl with Usher, Usher was singing him under the table. But R. Kelly is a great song writer (who should be writing from jail as he is a pedophile).
Also released on 3.10.2009 was J Holiday’s second cd, Round 2. Now, I kept I was going to give his first cd a listen, because I heard boy really has pipes on him. But he kinda just slipped through the cracks and I never got around to it. Lately I’d been hearing some interviews he did on the local radio stations, and he sounded like a real cool dude, so I said I’d really give Round 2 a listen. And I did. And I love it. I have already allotted time tomorrow to listen to the first effort because I feel like I’ve been missing out. On this cd he even has a socially conscious song, Homeless. How many singers out there are still doing socially aware songs? Holiday’s lead single is It’s Yours, which is a good solid song. However other songs I like here are Forever ain’t enough, Run into my arms, Lights go Out, and I don’t even mind the Rick Ross feature (the only on the album) on the song Wrong Lover. Oh, and the boy really does have some pipes on him. (Did anyone else wonder if that’s Brugal Dominican Rum surrounding J on his album cover? That’s some strong stuff!)
I think it all boils down to the passion for the music. When listening to The Dream’s cd, I didn’t feel anything. Well, lets not say anything, I felt his sense of following a formula and desire to be on top of the billboard charts. While listening to J Holiday, I knew he really is in this for the music. And for me, that is central as I believe that music is life. J Holiday’s cd is music for life and The Dream is the “Radio Killa” or the “R&B Gorilla” or “The American Dream” depending on which song it is. His conceit is annoying and such a turn off. Great songwriter, for others. For himself, he needs more work, more editing and other input. So that’s my verdict. If your in the record store, or browsing your iTunes support J Holiday’s effort before The Dreams.*
In case anyone cares (I don’t really but I just needed to blog about something; and this was semi-interesting and I got to say that America Loves a comeback) in some super miracle of miracles Britney Spears debuted her new album Circus at Number 1. Now, its not enough to be number 1 for the sake of being number one, she sold 500,000+ copies in her first week, coming just under Taylor Swift for 2008s biggest debut. She even outsold Sasha Fierce’s first week… This, along with the great success of Mariah Carey’s Emancipation of MiMi, really does show that we as Americans love a comeback. This is why everyone wants Michael Jackson to get it together. But back to Brit Brit. I can’t even pretend that I didn’t catch myself singing “Womanizer” at the most random times. I’d be sitting at my work desk and the next thing I know I’m humming, “Womanizer oh, you’re a womanizer.” Damn that song for being on an episode of my guilty please, Gossip Girl. I love those upper East Side brats, LOL.
Brit hasn’t had a #1 single since ‘Baby One More Time’ which was a super shocker to me. So I guess ‘Womanizer’ was a good luck for her. And she’s passing digital records also (286,000 online sales) since SoundScan started tracking downloads in 2003. This woman is showing that even though she is a loony as a loony toon, she is capable of selling records. Hell, even her tours are still selling out-they recently had to add a few more dates. See, Whitney (Houston) you too can make a comeback.. just let Bobby go and make your way back to the top… No receipts necessary…
The other night I was catching up on my VH1 Soul, seeing new music videos that I haven’t seen online. While watching, Bobby Valentino, or Bobby V as he apparently wants to be known as, had a video come on, titled “Beep.” This song and video are just all types of wrong. Well, not the whole video, just parts where I can see that Bobby V has this weird tail like thing on the back of his head, reminiscent of the ’90s. I mean seriously-a tail? I was watching in anticipation to catch it, to see what it was, because I saw it initially on a silhouette. I was like what is that! So I kept waiting anxiously for his head to turn, and when it finally did happen I saw this little tail afro type thing. What in the world! In addition to that the song is whack. I am not feeling it. Listen and judge for yourself!
That’s from a SNL skit on Christian Sirano (sp) Project Runway winner. Anyway. I had the privilege over the weekend to hear an advance of the new Beyonce cd, I am…Sasha Fierce. I was not impressed, not in the least. And this is sad because I happen to love Beyonce and feel she has the potential to make great music. I didn’t add the advance to my iTunes, instead I am waiting on a retail copy of the deluxe edition, which even as a deluxe only has 16 tracks. I swear folk are jipping us.
Anyway, I decided to post this link for ppl to decide how they feel about two tracks “Diva” and “Video Phone” after I was doing a blog stroll and came across a cool blog called BlogXilla. I definitely enjoyed this new discovery and will be checking in from time to time, and heck maybe that can bring me more traffic. I love blog traffic, it makes me feel that its not all for naught (love the Sarah Palin reference). Back to topic.. “Diva” is supposed to be the female version of Lil Wayne’s “A Millie” and I just wish Beyonce would be the Queen she needs to be. REAL MUSIC!! UGH!!
Diva is to a similar beat as “A MIllie” and basically says that a Diva is the female version of a Hustla.. Now I firmly disagree with this because I thought being a Diva meant that you had a certain aura. She kinda has that “I know I’m a bad bitch vibe and you can’t compare”thing going on. And when I think of Hustla (with an “a” not an “er”) I think of someone who is grinding, doing what they need to do to get to where they need to be. For instance, someone who is working hard and going to school is hustling.. but they are not a HUSTLER, i.e. selling drugs on the street.
And “Video Phone” I’m just not sure what I think there.. I’ll get back to you on that..
Dope. Crazy. Perfectly Imperfect. I'm not the best writer and probably not the worst either, but I am happy while doing it. Stick with me and you'll never be bored! I mean, maybe you won't and maybe you will....
