Radio Killer

Lifestyle
I always tell everyone that I don't listen to the radio because it sucks.  Well, its true.  Lately I've been letting the alarm radio run while I get ready for work in the mornings. I've been listening to  Ed Lover and his crew's  morning show on Power 105.1 fm and I enjoy it when they are talking. It's the music that kills me.  The radio runs from 7:05 am to 8:05 am and in that hour, Monday through Friday, I hear the same 5 songs.  What the hell, with all the music out there, you can only play 5 songs during this hour? The songs usually are: 1.  Usher - Trading Places: I liked this song until I was forced to listen to it daily.  Now I just want you…

New Jersey Drivers: Driving with RAGE

Lifestyle
I really am scared for what awaits people in 2009.  I say this because people aren't nearly as nice, forgiving, or even understanding as they once were-myself included.  Everyone is driven by money, rage, or sex. Two crazy things happened to me over the past two days, and I've only left my house about 4 times this week.  So that means a lot to me.  And I  know that sometimes I'm in my own world but these things just happened in too close of succession. The first bares no need to be mentioned in lengthy detail, but the end result was a store (KRAUZER'S DELI) called the policia on me because he gave me the wrong change.  Now, I didn't realize it until maybe an hour later, soI went back…

The Hulk is a Cash Cow!

Lifestyle
Apparently some people need more to survive per month than my annual salary. I have never been married, but I think that some women take this alimony thing way too seriously. I am all for being able to make sure you maintain your necessities in life;  if your husband wanted you to be a homemaker, therefore you didn't work and now you guys are divorcing. And celebrity wives are making a killing these days off someone elses money. Hulk Hogan's wife, Linda Bollea, is requesting an increase in her 40,000 a month alimony. Are you F**King kidding me? He already pays her that and still pays repair and maintenance of their home. The only things he doesn't pay for are cable (can you blame him?), pest control, window washing, and…

Where did Thanksgiving go?

Lifestyle
Its November, right? Last time I checked after Halloween there was Thanksgiving and then came Christmas. So unless there was some mass destruction of Thanksgiving (which for some is only a celebration of a mass genocide of people who only welcomed the pilgrims) that I don't know about I'd appreciate if we could get back to the holiday about giving thanks. I mean, this year I actually have some things that I would like to be thankful for. And here comes the economy and the market shoving my holiday under a rug! I should not be subjected to radio airways pumping Christmas carols just yet, as it is I only have a small tolerance for the jingles anyway, so by starting them earlier the radio stations are just shortening my…

Ruminating-sorry if I ramble.

Lifestyle
It's been a super long week and I haven't written in forever.  I can't believe the  election is in the next few days.  Wow.  It's really possibly that the United States of America with all its covert racism might have a black president.  Or its possible that we won't.  Either way, history has been made. Over the past week I spent a lot of time thinking and wondered so many things. I had so many Why's  or What questions that maybe I should have wrote them down because I can't think of any of them.  But one thing I know is that I sometimes joke and say that people suck, mainly guys, but maybe I'm the one who sucks? Maybe I have extremely flawed logic (which i sometimes admit to)…

Please Wait Patiently

Lifestyle
You know it really ticks me off when people come into my job and they want a specific person and only that person. We tell them this person is unavailable at the current moment and give them alternatives-do you want to see someone else or wait or even come back later. Now if you choose to wait, I will tell you I can't guarantee how long you will be waiting for. Do NOT agree to wait and then pester the first person who walks past to with your problems. It will not make the situation better by bad mouthing other employees. You choose, repeat-choose to wait an undetermined amount of time. Shit happens, get over yourself. How do things get lost you ask? Let me give you several hundred documents…

The “New” American Crisis

The “New” American Crisis

Fashionable, Mis-Adventures
Where did the money go? Isn't that the wonderful question plaguing us all in this "economical crisis" that the US is in? My question is slightly different, where are we getting the money is  my question.  Supposedly we are in a 5 trillion dollar deficit.   So where is the federal government getting these billions of dollars to "lend" the huge companies that are going bankrupt.  Where? Check it. Me and a friend are talking and we're like isn't it a little ass backwards to give the kapoot mortgage/loan companies money versus giving the public the money to be able to pay them back.  Isn't that what should be a focus? Why is this acceptable? I don't understand.  It's almost as if the powers that be got together and said, "Yes,…

Why do we feel the need to be Politcally Correct?

Mis-Adventures
I can't pretend I've been living under a rock for the past several weeks when in fact I have been quite tuned in to the mockery that has become of American Politics within the Republican Party.  I intently followed the Democratic convention and was quite impressed with the speeches I either watched or read online.  From Michelle Obama's introduction of her husband to Hilary Clinton's vow of "No way, no how, No McCain," and Obama's speech to end the convention.  I was inspired as a voter to see the unity that transpired there.  I mean who could forget the low blows that Hilary delivered in her race in the Primaries against Obama.  But in the end, if she believes in her party's beliefs she would have to support him, which…

Are books a dying breed?

Lifestyle
I had an interesting discussion the other night about audiobooks, e-books, and regular old books.  It seems to be that audiobooks are on the rise and books are on the decline.  For me, part of the joy of reading comes from flipping the pages of the book and slipping into a world that isn't my own.  I don't see the joy in listening to someone read to you.  Usually, when someone talks to me for an extended period of time I tune them out.  I only have a listening period of so long before my thoughts take over and I don't know what they said.  I feel the same would happen with an audiobook.  And, why are audiobooks so much more expensive than a plain old book? I heard someone…

Can We Talk For a Minute??

Lifestyle
I always knew i was attached to my devices.  My cellphone, computer, ipod or anything else that was small and portable.  Needless to say I felt completely disconnected from the world when my laptop was on the fritz for a few weeks a couple of months ago. Sure internet can be accessed via cell phones, work computers or even using my roommates computer.  But everything ceases when your own personal computer is gone, or at least for me it did.  Goodbye to free music downloads. I can't tell you how sad it made me not being able to download anything new or update my ipod.  Do you know how disheartening it is not to be able to add new songs to a playlist? To see how many play counts a…

The Return of TV!!

Lifestyle
I don't know about everyone else, but this summer kind of sucked in regards to TV.  I looked forward to TNTs "The Closer" for so long that when it finally premiered I had over hyped it to myself.  But someone reminded me that last night was the season Premiere of the CW's Gossip Girl, which I feel in love with last year during the writers strike.  I spent a whole day hogging my roommates desktop so I could watch every episode online until i was caught up.  I mean literally, a whole Saturday, I even ate in front of the PC.  So after watching the return of Blair Waldorf and Serena Van Der Woodsen I sought a schedule of fall premieres.  And I found a good one! Not that I…

Spin Class My Ass

Spin Class My Ass

Fitness
So in my world, Thursdays have recently become "Spin Class Thursday." So every week no matter how tired I am and I drag my ass to the 6:45 pm Spin Class at my gym.  Now, I've been doing this class for about 3 weeks, so its fairly new, but its pretty cool. However,  if anyone has taken a spin class they have realized that this bike hurts your ass.  Not in a "Oh my god! we worked our glutes hard today," kinda way, but in a "Damn, my ass is sore kinda way." No matter how softly I try to come down on my seat, that damn piercing seat makes my ass hurt. I don't know if everyone knows what a spin class (or a cycle class as some call…

Who hates their job? Who hates working? I know I do, I hate work. This is no surprise because there are few people who actually enjoy work. But sometimes I just feel like my job actually makes me dumber! My job doesn't require any actual brain work, or so the kids would like to believe. As a "front counter" person they believe that all the power lies with "those in the back." Which, in part has some truth. I cannot do anything to your account that would benefit you. I can cancel your loans, but I can't add any funding because I don't get any.. However, sitting with "someone in the back" doesn't make your day any smoother. Fact is, I am giving you all the information you need. If…
